At sense • studio, I think of natural fragrance as emotional architecture: scent that can shape atmosphere, awaken memory and bring us back into connection with our senses, ourselves and the natural world.
Each composition begins with botanical materials and can take different forms: on skin, through warmth, in smoke or within a space.
In a world that increasingly asks for our attention, these are small invitations to return to what can actually be felt.

I approach fragrance as an atmosphere rather than simply a combination of notes.
Each scent is developed slowly and intuitively from natural aromatic materials, with attention to how it evolves on skin, through warmth and within a space. The same fragrance can take on a different character depending on whether you experience it as perfume, incense or candlelight.

I do not use synthetic fragrance. Because I work with natural materials, subtle differences between botanical harvests and batches are part of their character.

Yes. All fragrances are developed and blended in an Amsterdam studio, and my products are prepared, finished and packed by hand in small batches.
Depending on the object, this includes blending perfumes, pouring candles and making Japanese-style incense from woods, resins, botanicals and my own perfume accords.

My perfume incense is inspired by Japanese incense making and contains no bamboo core. It is made from finely ground natural woods, resins and botanicals combined with my own natural perfume accords.
Each slender stick burns for approximately 30 minutes and can also be broken into smaller pieces for a shorter scent ritual.

All perfume incense and perfume candles are currently available through the online shop.
Perfumes, perfume oils and other scent objects are part of the wider sense • studio collection and will gradually become available online.

Orders are usually dispatched within 1–3 working days.
As my products are prepared, finished and packed by hand, occasionally an order may require a little more time. In these cases, dispatch can take up to 7 working days.
